When is the Tekken 8 beta release date? Everything you need to know

2023 is a great year for fighting games, and Bandai Namco’s classic will be getting a beta soon. This is all we know so far about the Tekken 8 beta.

Fighting game enthusiasts are in for a fantastic year in 2023. Street Fighter VI is just around the corner, Mortal Kombat 1 will reboot the saga and arrive in September, and Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8, while still without a confirmed release date, is expected to arrive soon. And with information about an upcoming beta test, we couldn’t be more excited for this game.

Is the Tekken 8 beta test coming soon?

The rumor of an upcoming Tekken 8 beta has started after the discovery of a Tekken 8 Playtest on Steam DB. While Bandai Namco has yet to announce anything official, this database of all games appearing on Valve’s platform should give us an idea that something is coming soon.

For now, and without any official information from the studio, there is no date as to when this test will be available for play. Some sources suggest that the upcoming Summer Game Fest would be an excellent venue for the announcement of this test, next week on June 8th. For now, fans can look forward to the Closed Alpha Test that will take place at Combo Breaker 2023. This event will give professional players a chance to try out the game and provide feedback to the developers.

Tekken 8 aims to be a graphical benchmark

During an interview late last year, the director and creator of the saga, Katsuhiro Harada, talked about the importance of graphics in this edition of the game. “I know that sounds kind of trite,” but games like Tekken 3 or Tekken Tag Tournament had a “variety of modes and the gameplay that people liked.” However, “an important aspect has always been the kind of graphics people can expect on new hardware.” The creative believes that this has not changed: “We really decided what we wanted to do with the graphic benchmark of the game.”

Tekken 8 will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
