Which Marvel heroes could defeat the Kingpin? Vincent D’Onofrio answers

Vincent D’Onofrio doesn’t believe that any singular hero could actually defeat Kingpin, his character in the MCU. But maybe is two specific ones joined forces…

Marvel’s most “grounded” superheroes have Kingpin as their own supervillain, with the King of Crime being the main antagonist of characters like Daredevil, Punisher, The Defenders or even Spider-Man. In fact, after premiere of ‘Echo’, it could be said that he is the equivalent of their Thanos, and we will be able to see how Wilson Fisk faces all of them in various productions as he will also appear in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’. But will he ever be actually defeated?

Will the end of Kingpin ever come?

After surviving a headshot in the ‘Hawkeye’ series, which marked the return of the character and Vincent D’Onofrio’s official debut in MCU, Fisk will be an important part of ‘Echo’, which premieres this month on Disney+, and which is raising many expectations among fans. The role of Kingpin is so relevant that it is speculated that he would be the villain for the fourth installment of ‘Spider-Man’, and could even become mayor of New York. Who would have to join forces to defeat him?

“This is a very difficult question because I don’t see that happening,” D’Onofrio acknowledged in an interview. “I don’t see Kingpin dying. Kingpin never died in the canon of the comic books, that’s very difficult. I’ll talk in terms of like who could come close to it, you know. I think it that would have to be either Daredevil or Spider-Man, I think… or together, the two of them together, maybe. But I don’t see Kingpin going away. He never did when I was a kid, so I don’t expect him to.”

Be that as it may, it will take us a while to see Matt Murdock facing Fisk again, since the production of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ was seriously affected by the strikes of Hollywood actors and scriptwriters. In fact, it was recently restarted with a new team in charge, although D’Onofrio remains optimistic about the series. “Charlie (Cox) is one of my favorite people, and I know that every day he comes prepared to break it, and you know how I am, I’m totally into it, so I’m here for the same reason,” says the veteran actor.
