Who will the villains be in ‘The Batman 2’? James Gunn debunks the latest rumors
James Gunn, head of DC Studios and very active social media user, has answered to a recent “revelation” of who ‘The Batman 2′ would present as its “rogues gallery”
During the last few days, James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, used his Threads account to respond to fans with some questions about the movies he’s working on for DC Comics and also to deny a publication that completely dismantles a fan theory for ‘The Batman 2′, a film that will be released on October 3, 2025.
“Nope. Totally made up”, said Gunn in the comments of a post by an account called “The Play Blend”, which indicated that Professor Pyg, The Scarecrow, Clayface, Hush and Dick Grayson, would be the many villains of ‘The Batman 2′. At the time that the director of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3′ responded to that publication, the original post was deleted, but it was rescued by Comicbook.
Gunn vs disinformation of the new DC Cinematic Universe
In addition to denying that post in Threads, James Gunn has been very active in answering questions about ‘The Batman 2′ and also in denying other supposed information about ‘Superman Legacy’, a film he directed and wrote, which stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult. What is known is that they will begin filming in March 2024, although he was very active in saying that some information that appears in various accounts is not real.
Gunn stated: “Not sure where this logline came from. I didn’t write it. It has elements of truth (obviously based on things I’ve said in the past). But I wouldn’t describe the plot this way, & I wouldn’t call Clark a cub reporter. He’s a thirty-year-old full-on reporter. But, yeah, we shoot in March. I’m grateful every day our production team worked their asses off to keep things going through the strikes. Forces impelled us to stop many times - & if we had we’d never make July 2025.”
Be as it may, at least Gunn is interested in keeping fans informed with as much detail as the studio can share at the moment. There is still quite some time before we can jump into his new vision for DC Superheroes, but we’ll keep you informed.
