Who’s who in GTA 6: All the main characters confirmed and their roles in the story
Rockstar has revealed some of the main characters in Grand Theft Auto VI. As Jason and Lucia embark on their adventure, they will encounter all sorts of characters from Vice City’s underworld.
Following the debut of the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar has revealed some key story details, including full profiles of the main characters. We already knew that Jason and Lucia would be the protagonists of a Bonnie and Clyde-style crime drama, but now we know what kind of people they hang out with: from dangerous Vice City-based drug dealers to professional robbers, nightlife entrepreneurs to influencers and music stars. One thing is clear: the lives of the controllable characters are as dangerous as they are exciting.
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos
Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder. Jason Duval grew up around grifters and crooks. After a stint in the Army trying to shake off his troubled teens, he found himself in the Keys doing what he knows best, working for local drug runners. It might be time to try something new. Meeting Lucia could be the best or worst thing to ever happen to him. Jason knows how he’d like it to turn out but right now, it’s hard to tell. Jason is the male protagonist of Grand Theft Auto VI.
On the other hand, life has not stopped hitting Lucia Caminos since she was a child. Fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary. Sheer luck got her out. Lucia’s learned her lesson — only smart moves from here. More than anything, Lucia wants the good life her mom has dreamed of since their days in Liberty City — but instead of half-baked fantasies, Lucia is prepared to take matters into her own hands. Fresh out of prison and ready to change the odds in her favor, Lucia’s committed to her plan — no matter what it takes. A life with Jason could be her way out. Lucia is the female protagonist of Grand Theft Auto VI.
Cal Hampton
Cal Hampton is a friend of Jason’s and another of Brian’s colleagues. Cal feels safer at home, eavesdropping on Coast Guard communications with a few beers and a few private tabs open in his browser. Cal is at the low tide of America and happy there. Casual paranoia loves company, but his friend Jason has bigger plans.
Boobie Ike
Boobie Ike is a local legend in Vice City, and he acts like one. This nighttime entrepreneur is one of the few who has managed to parlay his time on the streets into a legitimate empire that includes real estate, a strip club, and a recording studio. Boobie might seem like he’s just out for himself, but it’s his partnership with the young aspiring music mogul Dre’Quan for Only Raw Records that he’s most invested in — now they just need a hit.
Dre’Quan Priest
Dre’Quan Priest has always been more of a hustler than a gangster. Even when he was selling dope on the street to make ends meet, his goal was to get into the music business. Now that he’s signed the Real Dimez, Dre’Quan’s days of booking acts into Boobie’s strip club might be numbered as he sets his sights on the Vice City scene. Will this be his passport to a life of luxury and excess?
Real Dimez
Bae-Luxe and Roxy, also known as Real Dimez, have been friends since high school - girls with the savvy to turn their time shaking down local dealers into cold, hard cash via spicy rap tracks and a relentless social media presence. An early hit single with local rapper DWNPLY took Real Dimez to new heights. Now, after five years and a whole lot of trouble, they’re signed to Only Raw Records, hoping lightning can strike twice.
Raul Bautista
Raul Bautista is a professional robber with confidence, charisma and wit who is always looking for people with guts willing to take risks for the greatest rewards. Raul’s recklessness raises the stakes with every score. Sooner or later, his crew will have to double down or pull their chips from the table.
Brian Heder
Brian Heder is a typical drug dealer from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys. He still deals out of his boatyard with his third wife, Lori, and has been in the business so long that he now lets others do the dirty work. Brian’s letting Jason live rent-free at one of his properties — so long as he helps with local shakedowns, and stops by for Lori’s sangria once in a while.
What can we expect from the main characters in GTA VI?
As you can see, the list of main characters in the game is very diverse and colorful, very much in the style of previous installments. Jason and Lucia will have to face all sorts of crazy and dangerous situations with these strange companions. The cast of GTA VI points to a very ambitious choral plot, in which personal ties, ties with organized crime and the climb up the social ladder will show the most perverse and wild side of Vice City.
Jason and Lucia are a very interesting duo, and at the beginning of the story they find themselves in a very precarious situation, practically on the brink of the abyss: she has just been released from prison, and he is living “on borrowed time” with a drug dealer. Ultimately, they can only trust each other, although the cast of minor characters and other “supporting players” will serve not only to deepen their motivations, but also to generate all kinds of conflicts that they will have to overcome if they want to survive and have a future together. All indications are that no decision in GTA VI will be too small or too risky: one wrong move could mean the death of one or both of the main characters.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be available on May 26, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There are currently no plans to release the game on PC, so it will be exclusive to these two consoles.
