Will GTA 6 be released on PC? The Take-Two CEO answers if it will be available on all platforms

Still well over a year until its release, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick breaks the silence on the possibility of GTA6 coming to PCs in the future.

There’s no denying that Grand Theft Auto VI is probably one of the most highly-expected video games currently in development. Millions of players around the world have clinged to the words of those behind its developer and its publisher to try and find any small detail that they can release, with the only materials being either a very short trailer for the game that teases the kind of story we could see when it releases or old leaked footage that does not accurately represent the game we’ll eventually get.

As such, there are many questions surrounding the title, including a very important one that affects a large portion of the community: will GTA 6 release on PC? Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke at the TD Cowen conference this week (via VGC), in the process revealing a bit more about why the platform has not been announced yet:

“Well, the lack of an announcement is not something that could be set in stone as near as I could tell, because the only thing that happens after the lack of an announcement is an announcement, I suppose, or a continuing lack of an announcement, I guess that could happen too,” he said. “It doesn’t seem to me that either would be set in stone. But Rockstar has an approach to platforms which we’ve seen before, and they will make more announcements in due time.”

By looking at the way Rockstar has released previous titles, it becomes clear that the studio has always been focused on the console versions of their games first to give them their famous polish. When games like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 launched, they were instantly considered masterpieces. Their release on PC wasn’t confirmed until much later after their original release on consoles, and that seems to be the standard for how the company works.

Everything we can do for now is wait for Take-Two and Rockstar to make an official announcement, but PC players might have to wait for a long time. GTA 6 is launching in the later half of 2025, and historically players on the platform have had to wait for upwards of a year to even get confirmation of the studio’s games making it to PC. Many are still waiting for the first Red Dead Redemption.
