The TGS 2023 (Tokyo Game Show) was a very important date for Microsoft, as both the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One continue to try to gain a foothold in the Japanese market, a territory where it is by no means the platform of choice for the masses. And Phil Spencer’s team had the perfect recipe to win over the Japanese public: adding new games to Xbox Game Pass, including the presence of the Yakuza franchise, one of the favorites in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Also noteworthy is the announcement of one of the best JRPGs of 2023: Octopath Traveler 2, which will arrive in a few months on both Microsoft consoles and the Windows Store. Below, we give an overview of all the confirmed games along with their release date or window.

Octopath Traveler 2, better than the first?

Both titles share the same gameplay and the same way of telling the story and the characters that cross your path, so the second installment is a must if you liked the first. In the analysis of Octopath Traveler 2 by our colleagues in Spain, they mentioned that “it is still an unquestionable recommendation for the traditional JRPG lover, but its evolution has been quite continuous and not very revolutionary, which will leave it as one of the best titles of its genre this year, which is no small thing, but not as something transcendent. Beyond the question of its place in history, the truth is that we have an excellent representative of its category.”
