Update:
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom brings back BotW’s tribute to Satoru Iwata

Satoru Iwata is a legend of the video game industry, because his legacy will be remembered for a long time. The former president of Nintendo passed away in 2015 due to a long illness, but neither the gaming community nor the company he helmed are willing to let his figure fall into oblivion. Do you remember the homage he had in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Well, in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it is still present, and even upgraded.

On Satori Mountain, a strange inhabitant named The Lord of the Mountain, a beautiful non-hostile spectral creature that, accompanied by various visual details, made it clear that it was a way of paying tribute to Iwata. Now considering that the location remains in the Hyrule of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the tribute is maintained and we can see the creature again.

The Lord of the Mountain in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The main novelty in Link’s new adventure is that, in addition to the aforementioned tribute, there is something else: it turns out that The Lord of the Mountain emits beams of light that mark the location of various caves and places of interest where we can find valuable resources and treasures. For it to happen you must offer a piece of fruit (an apple, for example) in the small shrines under the cherry blossoms of Hyrule, those pink trees so beautiful that we can see from a distance.
