Update:
Pokémon anime and the most awaited reunion: Ash will be reunited with Misty and Brock

It has been 25 years since the Pokémon anime premiered. Ash Ketchum, the boy from Pallet Town who dreamed of becoming a Pokémon Master, has finally won the title. Becoming the Champion will mean saying farewell to the character, who will be leaving the anime soon. Throughout their journey, Ash and his Pikachu have met countless characters and allies, but no one can forget the original travel buddies Misty and Brock, the Gym leaders who toured Kanto with them. Now it has been confirmed that they will return for the final episodes.

According to Famitsu, the penultimate episode (airing on January 20 in Japan) will have Misty as a guest star. Still, it won't be until the final episode (on January 27) that the trio will be reunited, but not without some drama because a wild Hatterene will kidnap Brock. This creature of psychic and fairy type is characterized because its body emanates psychic waves that can even cause headaches. Will this be the final opportunity we will have to watch Ash paying for Misty’s bike after all these years? We will need to wait to find out.

What is next after Ash Ketchum?

The final episodes will also feature a remastered opening of the 1997 classic. It should be noted that Ash Ketchum's story will end with this 11-episode arc, which will put an end to almost 1,300 chapters starring Ash and Pikachu. Then, in April 2023, a new anime will begin that will narrate Roy and Liko's adventure in Paldea.

Paldea is the region of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, the most recent game in the saga created by Gamefreak. The title is inspired by Spain and offers vast scenarios under an open-world structure. Despite the graphical and performance problems, the review by our colleagues in Spain pointed out that this is the biggest leap since the brand made the move to three dimensions.
