The New York Yankees are off to an exceptionally strong start this season, currently holding the best record in the American League at 30-15 (the only team in the league to reach 30 victories thus far). Consequently, they also maintain the top position in their division: the American League East.

What is behind Yankees strong start?

This surge can be attributed to the impact of their reinforcements for this season, such as Dominican player Juan Soto and Mexican player Alex Verdugo, as well as the performance of their longstanding leader in recent years, Yankees captain Aaron Judge.

The wearer of the striped jersey number 99 was ejected in a game against the Detroit Tigers earlier this month (by umpire Ryan Blakney) but now, after 10 games, he is accumulating an average of .457, hitting 5 home runs, along with 7 RBIs, and sealing an OPS of 1.692.

This incident seemed to be a turning point in his campaign, as it appears to have had an impact and further motivated him. The last time a Yankees captain was ejected was in 1994 with Don Mattingly. Fans are now excited to see how far he can carry his team.
