Update:

The tension is ramping up in the World Series after the Los Angeles Dodgers drew level in Game 2, beating the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1 after a crushing 4-11 defeat in the first battle.

The 2025 World Series now shifts to Dodger Stadium for Game 3, where the all-conquering side will look to finally be able to rest on home advantage.

Who will start for the Dodgers and the BLue Jays in Game 3?

On the mound for Toronto is veteran right-hander Max Scherzer, who brings a résumé of postseason highs despite a regular season that featured some turbulence.

As for the Dodgers, they will play with right‐hander Tyler Glasnow, whose recent shoulder issue seems to be behind him: in the postseason he’s struck out eight in each of his last two starts and held a roughly 0.68 ERA across 13⅓ innings.

Toronto Blue Jays Game 3 starters:

  • DH: George Springer
  • LF: Nathan Lukes
  • 1B: Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
  • 2B: Bo Bichette
  • C: Alejandro Kirk
  • RF: Addison Barger
  • CF: Daulton Varsho
  • 3B: Ernie Clement
  • SS: Andrés Giménez

Los Angeles Dodgers Game 3 starters:

  • DH: Shohei Ohtani
  • SS: Mookie Betts

  • C: Will Smith
  • RF: Teoscar Hernández
  • 3B: Max Muncy
  • LF: Kiké Hernández

Analysts believe that the bullpens will also play a key role as the series goes on. Toronto plan to lean early on reliever Louis Varland, a frequent postseason go-to, with strategic usage of arms such as Jeff Hoffman, Seranthony Domínguez and flexible option Chris Bassitt.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers’ bullpen is fully available thanks to Glasnow’s deep outing in Game 2. Also, Roki Sasaki could be used to anchor the ninth, with support options like Emmet Sheehan, Anthony Banda and veterans Blake Treinen and Jack Dreyer also available.
