Dodgers vs Blue Jays: starting pitchers and lineups for World Series Game 6
Toronto can clinch its first title since 1993 if it wins Game 6 at home – but Los Angeles will fight to force a Game 7.
The 2025 World Series could be decided tonight. The Toronto Blue Jays hold a 3–2 edge over the Los Angeles Dodgers, and a victory in Game 6 at Rogers Centre would give the Canadian club its first championship in more than three decades. If the Dodgers win, the Fall Classic would go the distance, setting up a decisive Game 7.
After splitting the first two games, each team defended home field once, but with the series returning to Toronto for the final stretch, the Blue Jays have a chance to celebrate a historic triumph in front of their fans. Their last World Series crown came in 1993 – the year Joe Carter hit his iconic walk-off homer.
MLB World Series 2025: Game 6 starting pitchers
- Yoshinobu Yamamoto | Los Angeles Dodgers
- Kevin Gausman | Toronto Blue Jays
Both teams will turn again to the same pitchers who faced off in Game 2, when Los Angeles won 5–1.
Yamamoto was dominant that night, throwing a complete game, allowing just four hits and one run while striking out eight and retiring the final 19 batters in order.
Gausman also delivered a strong outing, lasting 6.2 innings and giving up four hits and three runs, with six strikeouts.
The numbers favor Toronto
History is on Toronto’s side. Teams that win Game 5 of a tied 2–2 World Series have gone on to claim the title 46 out of 68 times (67.6%). Under the current 2–3–2 format, when the visiting team wins Game 5 to take a 3–2 lead before heading home, they have closed out the series 20 of 27 times (74.1%).
