Friday Night Baseball on Apple TV+: Start date, game schedule, doubleheaders
With a weekly doubleheader, Apple’s “Friday Night Baseball” promises to be exactly what MLB fans have been hoping for and that’s why we’re taking a look at the full schedule.
Following an announcement from the company, baseball fans in 60 countries and regions can now look forward to “Friday Night Baseball” on Apple TV+. Of course, the news comes as we prepare for the start of the 2023 MLB regular season which will get underway on Thursday, March 30th with the first broadcast of Apple’s new show airing on April 7th, beginning with a doubleheader: the Texas Rangers at the Chicago Cubs, followed by the San Diego Padres at the Atlanta Braves.

“We can’t wait for ‘Friday Night Baseball’ to start up again, and we’re excited for fans to experience everything new we’re bringing this season.” Those were the words spoken by Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services when discussing the Apple’s streaming platform’s newest product. “Apple TV+ truly has something for everyone, from two live baseball games every Friday night, to an incredible slate of award-winning original films and series - there’s never been a better time to sign up.”
Where the new show itself is concerned, “Friday Night Baseball” boasts an eye-catching panel of talent as well as announcers in the booth including Wayne Randazzo (play-by-play), Dontrelle Willis (analyst), Heidi Watney (sideline reporter), Alex Faust (play-by-play), Ryan Spilborghs (analyst), and Tricia Whitaker (sideline reporter). It’s understood that game assignments for announcers will be shared on a weekly basis, ensuring that fans are always up to speed on who’s handling what.
