How did the new prospect pitcher, Wrobleski, work out for the Dodgers?
Due to their injuries this season, the Los Angeles team sent their minor-league player to pitch on Sunday against the Minnesota Brewers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have one of the best rosters in Major League Baseball. Still, this season, they have suffered significant injuries to Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Clayton Kershaw, Bobby Miller, and Walker Buehler in the starting rotation. For that reason, the manager of the Los Angeles team, Dave Roberts, was forced to send a young prospect to start Sunday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Justin Wrobleski fronted a new opportunity.
The lefty pitcher of the Triple-A Oklahoma City, Justin Wrobleski, took the mound at Chávez Ravine. The 23-year-old is one of the hottest prospects in the Dodgers system and made his Major League Baseball debut on Sunday.
Before the 2024 Major League campaign began, Justin Wrobleski was the Dodgers’ ninth-highest-ranked prospect and had only been in the Minor Leagues for two games. Between Double-A and Triple-A, the left-hander has made 13 starts, has an ERA of 3.23, and opposing players have hit .239.
9-2 Loss, but with some valuable lessons learned
The Dodgers gave the 11th pick in the 2021 MLB Draft his first chance in the Major Leagues to avoid overusing the bullpen early in the season.
In his debut against the Milwaukee Brewers, the 23-year-old left-hander showed little nerves but made a couple of mistakes.
He allowed four runs and four strikeouts in five innings, with two home runs being the only blemish.
