Spring training has begun in Major League Baseball, and the reinforcements of the different franchises want to show their worth at the first opportunity, such is the case of Dominican player Juan José Soto Pacheco with the New York Yankees.

The outfielder played for the San Diego Padres last season. During the offseason, he signed with the New York Yankees. Today, he debuted with the team and hit a decisive three-run home run against pitcher Bowden Francis.

The New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 12-6 in their first spring season game at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida. Nearly 9,000 fans were in attendance to watch the players’ debut.

For me, it is important to start well from day zero. They don’t know me; they don’t know what type of player I am; starting well on and off the field always brings good energy,” said Soto Pacheco.

Juan Soto will seek to extend his stay with the Yankees, so he must demonstrate his power during this campaign before reaching free agency. The Dominican averages .284 with 160 home runs, 527 runs scored, and 483 RBIs, has been a four-time Silver Slugger winner, and has had three appearances in the All-Star Game.
