Julio Urías is placed on the Dodgers’ disabled list
Dodgers ace Julio Urías has been placed on the injured list after suffering a hamstring injury in his left leg and will be out for at least two weeks.
Los Angeles Dodgers ace starter Julio Urías has had a difficult start to the 2023 Major League season as the Mexican pitcher has allowed the most home runs in the rotation and it now appears that he will be out for at least two weeks.
The Dodgers have announced that the Mexican pitcher will be placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sore hamstring in his left leg, retroactive to May 19.
In his last start, made on Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals, Urías allowed six runs and four home runs in three complete innings. The lefty was scheduled to start Thursday’s game against the Atlanta Braves.
So far in 2023, the 26-year-old pitcher has made ten mound appearances for the Dodgers and is 5-4. His ERA is 4.39 after allowing 27 runs in 55.1 innings and striking out 53 of the 227 batters he faced.
Following Urías’ injury, the Dodgers recalled Wander Suero from their Triple-A club. The right-hander has pitched in three major league games this year and has allowed three runs in 4.2 innings.

Trouble for Dave Roberts
The loss of Urías is yet another problem for the Dodgers’ starting rotation and manager Dave Roberts needs miracles out of his bullpen. On Friday, the Los Angeles team also placed Dustin May on the disabled list with a strained left forearm.
At the moment, the only healthy starters left in the Dodgers’ rotation are Noah Syndergaard, Clayton Kershaw, and Tony Gonsolin. In addition to Urías and May, Los Angeles has Michael Grove, Ryan Pepiot, and Walker Buehler in the injured list.
