Latest updates on MLB Playoffs 2024
As of now, the following teams have secured a spot in the postseason: Yankees, Orioles, Guardians, Astros, Phillies, Brewers, Dodgers, and Padres.

The MLB regular season is nearing its end, and teams are entering critical days as they fight for a ticket to the postseason. With the race heating up, we already know some of the first qualifiers and division winners, who will enjoy a first-round advantage heading into the playoffs.

At present, only eight teams have clinched a spot in the postseason: the New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Guardians, and Houston Astros in the American League; and the Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Diego Padres in the National League.
The playoffs are set to begin on Tuesday, October 1, with the Wild Card Round.
If the season ended today, here’s how the postseason would play out:
