Update:

Aaron Judge continues to prove why he’s one of the most dominant forces in Major League Baseball. In Wednesday night’s matchup against the Chicago White Sox, the Yankees’ captain blasted past the 50-home run mark for the season - adding yet another milestone to his already stellar career.

In the bottom of the second inning, Judge launched his 50th homer of the year, a towering shot to straightaway center field that left the bat at 106.9 mph and traveled 392 feet. The three-run blast brought home Anthony Volpe and Trent Grisham, giving the Yankees an early lead.

Later in the game, he crushed another home run - his 51st of the season - this time a deep fly ball that sailed between right and center field at 105.3 mph and 395 feet.

Judge joins historic MLB company

With the pair of long balls, Judge became just the fourth player in MLB history to record four separate seasons with 50 or more home runs.

He also tied a franchise legend in the process. Tonight marked Judge’s 46th career multi-homer game, pulling him even with Mickey Mantle for second-most in Yankees history. Only Babe Ruth has more, with 68.

The Yankees cruised to an 8-1 victory over the White Sox, improving their record to 90-68 and pulling even with the Toronto Blue Jays atop the American League East. However, Toronto holds the tiebreaker advantage.

Who else has four 50+ seasons?

Judge joins Ruth, Mark McGwire, and Sammy Sosa on the list of the only players in MLB history with four seasons of 50 or more home runs - a feat that further cements his place among the game’s all-time greats.
