Derek Jeter’s love life has, for a long time, filled the headlines of those certain magazines and kept a curious intersection of the MLB/celebrity Venn diagram content.
Before settling down, Jeter was one of the most eligible bachelors in sports, romantically linked to a list of actresses, models, and pop icons that would not look out of place on a new series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
His early high-profile relationship with Mariah Carey in the late 1990s is probably the most talked about; it was a romance that lasted about a year, during which their public chemistry caught the media’s full attention and took his popularity in the media to new levels.
Over the next decade, Jeter’s dating life read like a Hollywood casting list. He was connected to Miss Universe Lara Dutta around 2000–2001. It was a quiet relationship, but one that drew notice precisely because of its understated nature.
