The fate of Shohei Ohtani still remains a mystery as the free agency period commences at the conclusion of the World Series, making him a coveted figure in the player exchange planning within Major League Baseball. The Japanese star has caught the attention of various MLB teams due to his remarkable abilities on the field. As a two-way player, excelling in both pitching and batting, it is anticipated that he will secure a historic contract within the league.

In recent days, discussions have emerged regarding the new frontrunner to sign the baseball player, particularly among the current teams competing in the World Series. The Texas Rangers are emerging as a likely destination.

Ohtani an unlikely addition for Yankees

In response to this, the New York Yankees’ camp appears to have opted against making an offer for the services of the player who recently donned the Los Angeles Angels’ uniform. Although various insiders suggest that some form of negotiation is not entirely ruled out, the priority now shifts to securing the services of two prominent players, namely Yoshinobu Yamamoto (Orix Buffaloes) and Cody Bellinger (Chicago Cubs). Both players would seamlessly fit into the positions that the ‘Big Apple’ team urgently needs to bolster.

The primary reason for the Bronx team not actively pursuing Ohtani stems from his considerable cost, coupled with the presence of players such as Aaron Judge in their current roster. Additionally, the Dominican player Juan Soto has also emerged as a significant figure in discussions related to the New York team.
