Shohei Ohtani makes history and targets MLB 50-50
Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani continues his devastating run in Major League Baseball and isn’t done yet.
Shohei Ohtani continues his remarkable run, chasing the historic 50-50 mark. In the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 10-9 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Japanese star set a new record with 43 home runs and 43 stolen bases in a single MLB season.
Just a few days ago, he became the sixth player in MLB history to join the exclusive 40-40 club after hitting a Grand Slam in the Dodgers’ win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
At that moment, the Japanese player reached 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in just 126 games – 21 games faster than Alfonso Soriano, who achieved the same feat in 147 games in 2006 with the Washington Nationals.

Shohei Ohtani with devastating step in MLB
According to projections, Ohtani could finish the season with 51 home runs and 51 stolen bases. If he maintains this pace, he could make history by inaugurating the 50-50 club, becoming the first player in MLB history to reach these numbers. So far, the Japanese star has an OPS of .999 with 79 extra-base hits, 106 runs scored, and 96 RBIs in the current MLB season.
