The Los Angeles Dodgers thrashed the New York Yankees in the second game of the series by defeating them 11-3 at Yankee Stadium thanks to two home runs by Teoscar Hernández and a solid start from Gavin Store.

A day after giving his team the win in extra innings, Teoscar Hernández opened the scoring with a solo home run in the second inning. The Dodgers infielder hit his 14th home run of the season. The two-time Silver Slugger is looking to surpass his personal record of 32 MLB home runs hit in 2021.

Ohtani and Judge the stars in an exciting game

With Gleyber Torres at the hot corner and DJ LeMahieu at first, Austin Wells hit a grounder and was picked off on a double play at second and first. However, Torres made it safely home to tie the game at one run apiece.

Shohei Ohtani put the Dodgers ahead in the top of the third. The designated hitter sent a powerful drive to left field and Kiké Hernández scored. With this hit, the Japanese star reached 41 RBI for the year.

Aaron Judge made his presence felt in the fourth inning when he connected a home run with no runners on base to tie the game at two runs apiece. With this, “The Judge” increased his number of home runs in the 2024 Major League Baseball season to 22.

Sadly, the Dodgers added two runs, one in the fifth and one in the sixth. In the fifth inning, Kiké hit a round-tripper and in the sixth, Teoscar drove in Freddie Freeman when New York’s infielders chose to walk Will Smith in the middle.

The eighth inning proved fateful for the Yankees. Betts walked the starter, Ohtani reached on an error by Gleyber Torres and Will Smith picked up a pass to first base. With the bases loaded, Teoscar hit his second home run of the night and recorded his fifth career grand slam.

The Dodgers increased their lead in the ninth inning with a double by Freeman that brought home Betts and Ohtani. The pitching was so poor that Aaron Abone had to send Oswaldo Cabrera to the mound; with that, the Dodgers made the score 11-2. Judge made the scoreboard more decorative with another solo home run.
