What’s the latest on Shohei Ohtani’s injury?

The Japanese superstar discussed the hamstring injury he has been managing for the past few games during his Monday press conference.

On Monday, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that the first game of their series against the New York Mets at Citi Field had been postponed to tomorrow due to heavy rain in the city. Therefore, a doubleheader will be on Tuesday’s program to make up for it. The first game will be played at 1:10 p.m. and the second at 4:40 p.m. in Queens.

Shohei Ohtani recently discussed the hamstring injury he has been dealing with for a few weeks. Despite the injury, he has not missed any games. However, his performance at the plate has been impacted, with lower production in his recent at-bats compared to his numbers in April.

Shohei Ohtani is hoping for a quick recovery

He’s getting better every day,” Shohei Ohtani began by saying through his interpreter Will Ireton. “Today, I definitely feel better than yesterday,” he added.

The Dodgers’ designated hitter has only gotten hits in 8 of 38 at-bats and has hit only one home run in the last 10 games. The injury affects him, and the Dodgers suffer from their lack of effectiveness, as they have lost five consecutive games.

The extra day of rest due to the postponement of Monday’s game against the Mets will help Shohei Ohtani recover as soon as possible. The 29-year-old player is an important piece in the Dodgers’ offense, and they need to win again if they do not want the Giants to get closer to the lead in the National League Western Conference.
