Japanese Shohei Ohtani underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair the labrum tear he suffered when he dislocated his left shoulder during Game 2 of the World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers revealed on their social networks.

Shohei Ohtani underwent successful arthroscopic surgery today, performed in Los Angeles by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, to repair a torn labrum that resulted from a dislocated left shoulder on Oct. 26. He is expected to be ready for spring training,” the team’s post reads.

The two-way player is expected to return for spring training in the MLB.

He was initially diagnosed with a mild dislocation of the shoulder during an attempt to steal a base, although he played the rest of the World Series against the New York Yankees.

The surgical procedure was performed in Los Angeles by specialist Dr. Neal ElAttrache.
