Which MLB teams have won the most World Series, and which have never won?
Rangers and Diamondbacks had losing seasons in the big leagues last year, but are now fighting for their first or second Major League World Series title.
The World Series is considered one of the most significant sporting events worldwide. The Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks are all set to compete in a historic World Series starting this Friday. Globe Life Field will open its doors for the first game of the series between the champions of the American League and the National League.
The Texas Rangers have made it to the World Series again, marking their first appearance since they were just one strike away from winning the title in 2011. Despite a six-year losing streak, this season has been a turning point for the team. However, the Rangers remain one of the six major league teams yet to win a World Series championship.
The Arizona Diamondbacks achieved a remarkable feat in 2001 by becoming the fastest expansion franchise in Major League history to win the World Series title in their fourth season. They defeated the St. Louis Cardinals with a walk-off hit from Tony Womack and beat the Atlanta Braves in five games to win the National League Championship Series. In a thrilling seven-game World Series, they won against the Yankees with a walk-off hit by Luis Gonzalez. This victory marked the only championship ever won by an Arizona-based sports team.
