The first-ever TGL match will take place at Palm Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 in what is a new beginning for the sport.
An indoor golf league, the brainchild of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, will try to bring in a new viewership with technological innovations such as shot clocks, and hot mics, as well as huge simulator screen.
The arena in Florida is a 64-foot x 53-foot golf simulator with real grass, fairway, rough and sand for tee and approach shots all embedded into the surface, which changes to the green once a player approaches the 50-yard mark.
Celebrity investors, including names such as Steph Curry and Shohei Ohtani, as well as the billionaire owners of Reddit and Home Depot, have all put money into the tournament which will see world stars play 15 custom holes across 2 hours in a quick-fire format, with 6 teams of 3 golfers going head-to-head.
When does the New York Golf Club vs The Bay GC start?
Shane Lowry will have the honour of hitting the opening tee shot at the tournament which is set to start around 9pm ET on Tuesday, January 7.
As mentioned, each game has a limit of 2 hours.
