The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers met at Yankee Stadium to offer one of the most anticipated series in the MLB baseball season; The ‘Bronx Bombers’ managed to avoid their first series sweep of the season by sealing it with a victory in the third game.

During the first two games, the Los Angeles Dodgers surprised the Yankees, first with a 2-1 victory, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto in charge of keeping the Manhattan boys at bay. In the second game, they beat them 11-3, with Teoscar Hernández as the protagonist. In the third and final game, the Yankees consolidated themselves with a 6 runs to 4 victory over the Californian lineup.

The New York team maintains its top spot in the AL East with a 46-21 record, while the Dodgers solidify their position as leaders of the National League West with a 41-26 record. Both teams are on track to head to the postseason and vie for the long-awaited Commissioner’s Trophy.
