Update:

The 2025 World Series will reach its thrilling conclusion on Saturday, November 1, with the Los Angeles Dodgers facing the Toronto Blue Jays in a decisive Game 7. Adding to the excitement, the game will feature special performances of both national anthems.

Pia Toscano and Noah Reid to sing national anthems

Former “American Idol” contestant Pia Toscano will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” for the United States. Toscano, who finished ninth in the 10th season of the singing competition, previously sang the anthem at several Los Angeles Kings home games during their Stanley Cup runs from 2012 to 2016. The Kings won the Cup in 2014, and Toscano was widely regarded as a good luck charm.

Toronto-born musician and actor Noah Reid, best known for his role in the Canadian TV series “Schitt’s Creek,” will perform “O Canada” before the game.

Dodgers and Blue Jays set for decisive Game 7

Los Angeles forced a final game after a 3-1 victory over Toronto in Game 6 at Rogers Centre on Friday. The Dodgers recovered from consecutive home losses to force the series to a winner-take-all matchup. In Game 6, pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto delivered a standout performance, outdueling Blue Jays counterpart Kevin Gausman.

Pitching matchups for Game 7

The Dodgers are expected to start Shohei Ohtani on short rest. Under the two-way rule, starting Ohtani allows him to remain in the game as the designated hitter after exiting as a pitcher. Max Scherzer is set to start for Toronto.

Historic stakes on the line

Toronto, the American League champions, are chasing their third World Series title, more than 30 years after back-to-back triumphs in 1992 and 1993. Meanwhile, Los Angeles, the National League winners, aim to become the first team in 25 years to win consecutive championships after defeating the New York Yankees last year.
