Who’s the player that the New York Yankees would sign if they do not reach an agreement with Juan Soto?
The Dominican will try his luck at the end of the season after the agreement with which he arrived at the New York franchise from San Diego Padres expires.
Juan Soto will try his luck at the MLB free agency market at the end of the season after the agreement with which he arrived at the New York Yankees from the San Diego Padres expires. He has mentioned on multiple occasions that he wants to stay with the ‘Bronx Bombers,’ but there have been no negotiations, at least publicly, so several franchises are beginning to sound interested in his services.
Renowned Major League Baseball insider Jon Heyman of the New York Post mentioned that there are four franchises where the player can end up.
These have been added to a possible return to the Washington Nationals, with whom Juan Soto was already a World Series winner in 2019. Soto Pacheco maintains an offensive line of .285/.414/.580 with 39 home runs, 28 doubles, 4 triples, and 101 RBIs in 146 appearances with the Yankees.
Yankees to analyze market if they don't reach an agreement with Soto
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic revealed that the Yankees would be after infielder Alex Bregman, who is in his final season with the Houston Astros.
“The New York Yankees could look for options in the market if they fail with Juan Soto, and that would be by bringing in Alex Bregman and moving Jazz Chisholm Jr. to second base,” Rosenthal said.
Bahamian Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been playing third base for the first time. If they agree with Alex Bregman, he will take over that position, and Chisholm Jr. could then play at second base or in the outfield.
Although the Yankees would not have the green light to count on his services, the report also mentions that the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, Detroit Tigers, and Arizona Cardinals also have him on their agenda.
