The 2022 NBA Playoffs are well and truly underway and we’ve got the Minnesota Timberwolves vs the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 6 of their series. Join us for all you need to know about the game and where you can watch it!

It’s the Grizzlies vs the T’Wolves

While the Minnesota Timberwolves deserve credit for the way in which they have played in what is their first playoff appearance since 2018, the reality is it may about to be a rather short lived cameo as they face elimination on Friday night in Game 6 of their first round series against the No. 2 seeded Memphis Grizzlies. With the Grizzlies leading the series 3-2, Karl-Anthony Towns and co. are going to have to bring their A game if they hope to extend their postseason by forcing a Game 7.

On the other side of the court, we’ve got the Grizzlies who will looking to close out the series here and now after engaging in an intense back and forth with the T’Wolves. Star Ja Morant hasn’t had as big an effect as many expected, but on the other hand he’s most definitely delivered when Memphis needed him most, as we saw with his last gasp winning layup in Game 5 at home. By comparison Desmond Bane has been nothing short of excellent, leading the team with 23.6 points per game across the series with an impressive 47% shooting from beyond the arc.

What to know ahead of Grizzlies vs T’Wolves Game 6

Where the Grizzlies are concerned, center Steven Adams will be absent due to health and safety protocols, but in reality this shouldn’t have much of an effect as the big man has actually only played a few minutes in the series. Indeed, Memphis has primarily relied on the likes of Jaren Jackson and Brandon Clarke in the middle, which means the real focus will of course be on Ja Morant. As was mentioned before Morant hasn’t exactly been stellar, but rest assured if he can repeat the performance we saw towards the end of Game 5, Minnesota will have a problem on their hands.

Minnesota on the other hand will know full well that it’s going to come down to Towns, who after getting off to a slow start in the series simply transformed. With an average of 30 points and 13 rebounds across the last two games, he’s been the focal point of a Minnesota offense that quite frankly has looked out of ideas without him. It’s also worth mentioning that Ja Morant’s inability to dominate in the series so far has been due to Minnesota’s ability to keep him quiet. If the T’Wolves hope to avoid elimination on Friday night, they will definitely have to do that again. The winner of the series will go on to meet the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.
