Thursday night’s NBA Playoff action saw Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers secure their places in the Conference semi-finals at the expense of New Orleans, Utah and Toronto respectively.

Just one semi-final place (Western Conference) remains to be filled with the Golden State Warriors waiting the winners of the Grizzlies vs. Timberwolves match-up.

Memphis lead the series 3-2 going into Game 6 of what is the only NBA offering available for fans tonight (Friday).

Grizzlies @ Timberwolves: 9:00 pm (ET)

The 19,000 capacity Target Centre will be packed tonight as Timberwolves fans will be pushing their team in Game 6 hoping to be the only play-off game that goes the distance of 7 match-ups as a place in the Western semi-final against Golden State awaits the winners.

Memphis will once again deposit hope in Ja Morant who inspired his team back from an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves (111-109) and take a 3-2 lead in their Western Conference first-round playoff series last Tuesday.

Morant, has been voted the “Most Improved Player” in the NBA on Monday, struggled for much of the game but turned it on in the final quarter, scoring 18 points, including 9 of 10 at the free throw line finishing with 30 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists.

Minnesota will look again to Karl-Anthony Towns after he secured 28 points and 12 rebounds on Tuesday. Anthony Edwards, D’Angelo Russell and Taurean Prince are the Timberwolves other danger men as they look to take the series to a seventh game.

“Everybody knows that we’re facing an elimination game on Friday, so I don’t think anybody is down,” said Edwards. “I think everybody is just disappointed we lost (Tuesday). But I’m looking forward to Friday because all the pressure is on”.
