Aldama: “Everything is just clicking”

The Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies made a 4th quarter comeback to defeat the Doncic-less Dallas Mavericks 112-108 on Monday.

The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Dallas Mavericks 112-108 on Monday, despite Kyrie Irving’s best effort 28-point performance. It was an impressive fourth-quarter comeback by the Grizzlies, who were down by 16 in the third.

No Morant, no problem

Both the Grizzlies and Mavs were without their superstars, Ja Morant and Luka Doncic. Irving was listed as questionable as he’s dealing with soreness in his foot, but ended up playing and going off from the start, putting up 28 points in the first 36 minutes.

Irving faltered in the fourth quarter though, missing all eight field goal tries in the final period. The Mavs were up by 16 late in the third quarter, but Santi Aldama came to lead the comeback with a double-double off the bench, gaining a career high of 22 points and 14 rebounds.

“It’s all about trusting the work you put in and just trying to get a win every day, and we have a lot of selfless guys that just want to do that,” said Aldama. “Everything is clicking and we’re just finding ways to win.”
