Another Luka triple-double, another Luka record
Another day, another record for Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic. His second triple-double in two games of 95-20-20 is the first in NBA history.
Just a few days ago, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic made history when he recorded the NBA’s first-ever triple-double of 60-21-10 in the Mavs’ win over the New York Knicks. Tonight, he made that a two-game triple-double record, putting up 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists in the Mavs’ win over the Houston Rockets. That makes his two-game triple-double total of 95-20-20 the first in NBA history.
Luka Doncic making a habit of setting records
Though tonight’s triple-double wasn’t quite as epic as Tuesday’s was, it was Doncic’s 54th career triple-double AND the NBA-leading eighth this season. Doncic finished the game against the Rockets with 35 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assists, one steal, and two blocks. He shot 11-21 from the field, including 4-9 from deep and 9-12 from the free-throw line.

The Mavs won 129-114 to extend their winning streak to five games. A lot of that is thanks to Doncic, who’s been carrying the weight of the team without Dorian Finney-Smith, Maxi Kleber, or Josh Green during that time.
Doncic started off with 14 points and two blocks in just the first 12 minutes of the game. He then pushed it to 21 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds literally right at the the buzzer sounded to end the half, hitting a buzzer-beating triple.
This made Doncic’s fourth consecutive 30-point game and made him just the fourth player since 1997 to have at least three 20-7-7 halves.
Next up, the Mavericks will play the San Antonio Spurs on the road on New Year’s Eve as part of a two-game Texas road trip.
