Before the start of the season, StubHub, the largest online second-hand ticket marketplace, had identified the Knicks as the most in-demand ticket in the NBA, surpassing the Los Angeles Lakers, who held the top spot for the previous five seasons. The Knicks and Lakers, representing the country’s two largest markets, accounted for almost 40% of the league-wide ticket sales, per StubHub.

The lowest-priced tickets for the sold-out game on Vivid Seats were initially priced at $341. However, after adding $107.37 in fees, the price increases to $448.37.

On one popular resale site, service fees add up to more than $5,000. For instance, a courtside seat with an unobstructed view of the game is listed on StubHub for $14,986; after adding on fees, the total comes to $20,237. Even seats just a few rows from the court range from $1,800 to $12,547, not including the added fees. The game in question is Game 3 of the first-round Eastern Conference matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night at Madison Square Garden.
