This year’s NBA Finals opener brought out a couple of famous faces to San Francisco to witness the Warriors’ sixth appearance in the Finals in eight years.

Among these faces in attendance on Thursday night were rapper Jay-Z, poker player Phil Hellmuth and Journey guitarist Neal Schon. Director Spike Lee was also seen in Chase Center wearing a fully white suit with a large chain that read “MARS,” for his character Mars Blackmon in the 1986 film “She’s Gotta Have It,” and later appeared in Michael Jordan’s sneakers commercial. Lee went over to Draymond Green before the game to say hello.

Other celebrities who made their way to Chase Center were NBA Hall of Famers Gary Payton and Bill Walton, Giants legend Barry Bonds, Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey, Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki, sports broadcaster Ahmad Rashad and A’s pitcher James Kaprielian.

The Rock band ‘Grateful Dead’ had its drummer also in attendance, Mickey Hart, and was seen next to Walton, who is known to be a fan of the jam band.

These celebrities were not able to watch their Warriors achieve victory as they lost Game 1 of the NBA Finals to the Boston Celtics (120-108).
