Dejounte Murray’s contract details: Salary and years left for the new Pelicans guard
The New Orleans Pelicans have made a major upgrade at the guard position, trading with the Atlanta Hawks for Dejounte Murray.
The Atlanta Hawks have traded guard Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans and have gotten a 2025 first-round (via the Lakers) and a least-favorable Milwaukee/Pelicans 2027 first-round pick, Larry Nance Jr., and Dyson Daniels.
The 27-year-old Murray averaged 22.5 points, 6.4 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game for the Hawks in his eighth NBA season.
Murray had signed a four-year, $120 million extension with the Hawks before last season. This deal begins in 2024-25 and includes a $30.8 million player option for the 2027-28 season.
Murray joins Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum in New Orleans as a player who will be expected to generate late offense in games.
