Fans biting their nails after latest Wembanyama injury update
Spurs fans are concerned after their star player suffered an injury that is set to keep him out of action.

San Antonio’s star player Victor Wembanyama will miss his second consecutive game as the Spurs continue to manage a left knee issue that surfaced late in their thrilling win over the New York Knicks.
The 21‑year‑old centre, who has been one of the most dominant forces in the league this season, is being labelled as day‑to‑day after hyperextending his knee and is officially “out” against the Trail Blazers.
The injury occurred as Wembanyama leapt for a rebound, only to come down awkwardly when his foot slid forward under him. He immediately grabbed at his left knee and, visibly hobbling, exited the game for further evaluation.

“It was good to see him walk back out”
Initial scans, including an MRI, brought encouraging news, showing no structural ligament damage. That has allowed the Spurs to take a cautious approach rather than rush him back.
Despite his brief return to the bench late in the Knicks game, Spurs staff opted not to include him in the lineup for the team’s road trip game against the Indiana Pacers. In his absence, San Antonio still played to a 123‑113 victory, with De’Aaron Fox leading the scoring and bench players such as Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle stepping up.
Head coach Mitch Johnson described Wembanyama’s status as fluid, underlining that the club will assess him daily. “He finished the game on the bench with this teammates,” he said. “That made me feel good. I have no idea know what to say. But it was good to see him walk back out and be able to finish the game on the bench with his teammates.”
Victor Wembanyama is listed as out tonight against Portland along with Devin Vassell.

As for Wemby himself, he admitted that “I was this close to going back into the game, but they had to hold me back.”
