Lakers Starting five
With no LeBron Malik Beasly and Troy Brown Jr. are going to have to step up fro the Lakers in LA tonight, and for the rest of the month.
GS Starting five
Steph is back in the starting line up for Steve Kerr, as Golden State looks to stretch their win streak to 6 six games.
LeBron out for three weeks
LeBron James will miss the next few weeks after suffering a tendon injury in his foot. That means the King will miss the most important part of the season for a Lakers team that is desperate to get into playoff position. He is set to return two weeks before the end of the regular season, but will the Lakers even be in the playoff mix by that time?
Steph ready to put on a show in LA
Steph Curry was injured in a game against the Dallas Mavericks at the beginning of February, and the Warriors have been patiently awaiting his return. Tonight after exactly a month after getting injured against the Mavs, he is back and ready for the final stretch of the season.
The West
Taking a look at the Western Conference standings we see the Warriors starting to surge up the board after their five game win streak. They are currently 34-30, and sitting in fifth place just a game behind the Phoenix Suns who have the fourth and final home court spot in the first round of the playoffs. The Mavericks are a game behind the Warriors and are a currently in a battle with the Phoenix Suns in the first game of a busy NBA Sunday. The Lakers still have a long road ahead of them if they want to get into the playoffs. They are sitting in 11th place, which means if the season ended today they would miss the Play-In Tournament. They are one game behind the 10th placed Pelicans and the 9th placed Jazz and just three games back of the Mavericks in the sixth spot which would keep them from playing in the Play-In Tournament.
LA calling on AD
With no LeBron James, Anthony Davis is going to have to be the man in LA for the next few weeks. He’s a bonafide super star that has shown he is capable of carrying a team in the past, and now it’s his job to be the facilitator on a team that has just been thrown together in the trade deadline. The Lakers playoff chances rest on the shoulder of The Brow.
Steph is back baby!
This is a sight for sore eyes. Sure the Warriors have won their last five games, but there were some rough moments in the month that Steph Curry was gone. There was speculation that he would be back before the All-Star break, but Golden State was forced to wait longer than expected, and tonight they finally get the best shooter to ever to it back in time for today’s game against the Lakers.
Warriors win streak five
The Warriors rattled off their fifth straight win against the New Orleans Pelicans to complete a five game home stand. Golden State fought off a slow start to the game in which they trailed by 14 after the first quarter to rally for a 108-99 win in the final game without Steph Curry. Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 27 points and Johnathan Kuminga posted 19 and 7 as the Warriors continue to climb the Western Conference standings.
Lakers lose two of last three
The Lakers have been without LeBron James for the last three games and have gone 1-2 in that span, including their 110-102 loss to Minnesota on Friday night. Anthony Davis poured in 38 points in the absence of James, but it wasn’t enough to top the T’Wolves to took the lead right before halftime and never gave it back. Rudy Gobert led Minnesota with 22 points and 14 rebounds on a night where five different Timberwolves scored 13 or more points.
