The Golden State Warriors are on to the next round of the NBA Playoffs after taking Game 7 over the Kings in Sacramento on Sunday afternoon. Steph Curry might have had his best playoff performance ever, scoring 50 in a historic 120-100 win from Golden1 Center.

Warriors overcome road troubles

Until someone knocks the defending champs out, the Warriors will still reign as Kings of the NBA. Sacramento had a royal bounce back of a season and were at home looking to dethrone the Warriors in the first round series finale.

Steve Kerr’s side came into Game 7 as one of the worst performing teams on the road in the entire league. They won just 11 games away from Chase Center all season, and had to beat the Kings in an electric atmosphere in Sacramento.

As always, it was Steph Curry stepping to the plate in a must win game away from home. Steph has dazzled us with some memorable performances over his career, but he had never done what he did in Game 7.

Curry’s historic night

The game started with both teams going blow for blow as the lead never crept over six in the first half. Steph got started early with 20 points, but Domantas Sabonis was dominate out of the gate. He had 16 points going into halftime and was almost unstoppable for the first 24 minutes.

Sacramento went into the break with a two point lead despite De’Aaron Fox only scoring 8 points through two quarters. His cold night would continue in the second half as the Kings leading scorer continued to battle through a broken finger. Fox had 16 points on 5/19 shooting to bring a disappointing end to a brilliant series.

Everything changed in the third quarter as the Warriors locked down on the defensive end and started bullying the Kings on the boards. Sacramento started the half going 2/12 from the field as Curry was relentless on the offensive end. After scoring 20 in the first half, he had 14 in a third quarter that Golden State grabbed 13 offensive rebounds.

Looney turned game around

Kevon Looney may have struggled to stop Sabonis in the first half but he came up huge the second half. He had most of those offensive boards in the third quarter surge and held Sabonis to just 6 points in the second half. The Warriors' center ended Game 7 with 11 points and 21 rebounds for his third 20+ rebound game.

For as well as the Warriors played, they were up just six right before the end of the third, but Klay Thompson, who had an off night from the field hit one of the biggest shots of the night. His four point play with a second to go in the third sent Golden State to the final 12 minutes up 10 and took the wind out of Sacramento’s stadium.

The Kings scored just 42 points in the last two quarters and the lead stretched to 24 points thanks to Curry’s 30 point second half in a record setting night. His 50 points were not only a personal playoff record, but he set the NBA record for most points in a Game 7.

Lakers vs. Warriors: Game 1 Wednesday

The Warriors are moving on to the next round, where they will meet LeBron James and the new look Los Angeles Lakers in a mouthwatering second round matchup. Game 1 is Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET from the Chase Center.

The Golden State Warriors are on to the second round of the playoffs, and will take on the new look Los Angeles Lakers.

Curry vs. LeBron. The NBA's winningest team against the current dynasty in the league. It's Lakers and Warriors for a spot in the Western Conference Finals.

as.com

Here's a recap of Steph's historic night from Sacramento. Sit back and enjoy.

as.com

Steph's 50 points are the most ever in a Game 7. The Warriors are moving on after Curry had maybe the best playoff performance of his career!

as.com

This isn't bad defense. Nor is it luck. This is the millions of hours of work that Curry has put in to his craft, and of course when the stage is the biggest that's where he is best.

as.com

Klay didn't have a great night shooting the rock, but this four point play was huge heading into the fourth quarter.

as.com

It wasn't just threes for Curry in the second half, in fact he did most of his damage from the paint on route to 50 points!

as.com

It seemed like Steph couldn't miss in the second half, and when he's making buckets like this you know he's not going to slow down until the job is done.

as.com

After the break it was the Steph Curry show. He took over and carried his team to victory in the second half, starting with this three to start the third quarter.

as.com

Add another milestone to the history books for Steph Curry. He has now made more threes than anyone else in ever in Game 7s.

as.com

Looney had a monster game, and would really take flight after half. The Warriors had 13 offensive rebounds in the third quarter, most of which were grabbed by the GS big man.

as.com

When Steph is hitting from this range, there isn't much you can do if you're a Kings defender. He had 20 at half, but he had a second half for the history books to lead the Warriors to the win.

as.com

It didn't take long to see that Steph was feeling it early on.

as.com

The Warriors had to win Game 7 on the road after a nightmare season away from the Chase Center. When it mattered most their future Hall of Famer and the greatest shooter in the history of the world stepped to the stage, but it was Looney starting the show. He had a monster night with 11 points and 21 rebounds.

WE ARE UNDERWAY IN GAME 7 FROM GOLDEN STATE!!!

as.com

Malik Monk will be starting on the bench again for Game 7, so that means it's going to be up to De'Aaron Fox to set this afternoon. Domantas Sabonis is due for a big game, will he produce to advance the Kings to the second round?

as.com

Andrew Wiggins has been in the starting five since Game 2 after missing almost two months. Since then Steve Kerr has gone with the same five so why change now. The Warriors have got themselves into trouble in the first quarter of road games this year, but they can not afford to do so today.

as.com

Could this be it?

The Warriors have won four titles in a span of eight years, but all good things come to an end. If they lose today will the Warriors ever comeback to be the team they once were? Steph still can post 40 on any given night, but Draymond’s beard is getting grayer by the day, Klay Thompson has had a fantastic return from two devastating injuries, but maybe in the descending part of his career. If the Warriors lose tonight, don’t be surprised to see some offseason shake ups to the Golden State roster, which would mean an end to the dynasty of Steph, Dray and Klay. If you think that is worrying Curry, think again.

as.com

Monk on the money

Say what you want about De’Aaron Fox, but if it wasn’t for Malik Monk’s heroics off the bench from the very first game the Kings would not have made it to Game 7. He has been outstanding for Mike Brown and the Kings in this series, averaging a shade under 20 points per game after starting Game 1 with 32 points off the bench. He led the Kings to victory in an elimination game in the Bay, and tonight will look to etch his name in Sacramento history with a big game against he defending champions.

as.com

Warriors road woes

It’s been a bumpy title defense season for the Golden State Warriors who have battled injury, preseason fights, and maybe a bit of a championship hangover. The biggest trouble the Warriors are having is when they have to hit the road. They are one of the worst teams in the league away from how, having won just 11 of 41 games on the road this season, and it just so happens they will have hit the road looking to keep their season and their dynasty alive today from Golden 1 Center.

as.com

What's on the menu for Chef Curry?

The Warriors dynasty is being threatened by the new look Sacramento side who are plotting to knock the champs off their throne and open the door for a new King of the NBA. Steph Curry knows what’s at stake today, and we had better believe that Golden States most feared Warrior will be looking to keep the run alive in the Bay. He is averaging 31 points a game in this series, and is fully capable of wining this game all on his own, although he’d love to get some big contribution from Klay, Dray and the rest of the cast

as.com

The King is here

De’Aaron Fox is already becoming a postseason legend in his debut trip to the playoffs. He had 38 points in his first ever playoff game to open the series and give the Kings their first playoff win in 17 years. Since then he has been unstoppable, averaging 29.3 points a game and saving his best for last. He was the best fourth quarter player in the regular season, and Game 7’s are like a 48 minute long fourth quarter. Let’s see what he’s got in store today from Sacramento.

as.com

Game 6 recap

It’s not often that you see Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors let a golden opportunity slip through their fingers under the comfort of their home roof. So even more credit has to be given to the Kings for going into the Chase Center and beating up the defending champs in front of their home fans. GS had won three straight to take a 3-1 series lead, but Malik Monk brought calm to the Kings with a 28 point night off the bench. Sacramento beat the Warriors up down low on a night where Domantas Sabonis only had seven points. He did grab 11 of the 53 rebounds as the King cruised to victory in the 118-99 win.

as.com

We are live from Golden 1

Hello everyone and welcome to Sacramento where the Kings are coming off of a season saving road win in the house of the defending champions. Now this young, up and coming team has a chance to make a statement tonight by knocking out Steph, Dray and Klay in what could be the beginning of the end of a dynasty. The Warriors have been in plenty of big games over their decade of dominance and will he relying on their post season experience to carry them to the second round of the playoffs.
