KAT Stats/ ANT stats

Minnesota’s two young leaders are in their first playoffs series ever, and are proving they will be a force to be reckoned with over the years to come. Anthony Edwards scored 36 points in his playoff debut and is averaging 24.1 a game while Karl Anthony-Towns bounced back from disappointing performances in Games 2 and 3 with 33, and 14 rebounds and 28 and 12 rebounds in the last two games. He’s averaging 22.6 points and 11 rebounds in the series.

No flash, no flare. The T'Wolves are here to win tonight, and this starting five will lead the way.

The Grizzlies starting five from Target Center.

Warriors await winner

Who every comes out of the this series alive will have the Golden State Warriors in the next round of the playoffs. They finished off the Denver Nuggets in Game 5 from Golden State after struggling the first three quarters. If the Grizzlies win they are on to the next round, but if the T’Wolves win we are heading to Game 7 on Sunday.

Towns knows it’s a 48 minute game

The T’Wolves are in the playoffs for the second time since 2004. The last time they went to the the NBA Playoffs was 2018 and got swept 4-1 by the Rockets. This is a young team that is still experiencing new challenges like last game’s heartbreaker right before the buzzer. "It's a tough pill to swallow," said Karl-Anthony Towns, who has averaged 22.6 points with 11.0 rebounds in the series. "We hit a big 3 to tie the game up with 4 seconds (left). You feel good about going into overtime and having a chance to win the game. (It's) just a learning experience.

"We're so close, yet so far. Everything has to improve. Everything has to get better from all of us. It's going to be a team effort."

The buisness drip for the T'Wolves and KAT in this potential knockout game. Wil this be the final time they walk into the Target Center this season?

Jenkins having fun

The Grizzlies went to the Playoffs last year, but this is the first time since have a chance to get to the second round since the 2015 playoffs. Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins told reporters "This is the fun part about playoff basketball. You don't know how you're going to win. You've just got to keep chipping away, keep trusting it."

Ja Mornat cementing his legacy

Ja’s Game 5 heroic were just limited to game winning heroics late in the game to earn the Grizzlies their third win of the series. He scored 30 points, 18 of them in the fourth quarter, while adding to his already impressive highlight reel in this series. He is averaging 22.4 points, 10.4 assists and 8.8 rebounds in the first round.

You can bet that the Target Center will be rocking tonight. The T'Wolves will need all the help they can get to keep the series alive.

Ja is in the building. How will he follow up his game winning performance from Game 5.

Game 5: drama til the end

Game 5 came down to the wire in FedEx Forum. The T’Wolves were up as much as 13 in the fourth quarter, but the Grizzlies battled back to take the lead with just over a minute left courtesy of a Ja Morant three ball. The T’Wolves responded on a perfect out of bounds play to set up Anthony Edwards with a game tying three with under 4 seconds to go. But Morant used those 4 seconds to further cement his blossoming playoff legacy and win the game on a soaring lay up with a second left on the clock.
