The reports suggest that Damian Lillard may soon join the Miami Heat, the runners-up in the NBA Finals. According to journalist Shams Charania, there is a potential package that the Heat could offer the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Lillard’s impressive scoring abilities.

How many picks...?

The Heat’s offer should consist of three or four first-round picks, one or more drafts where the teams will trade first-round picks, one or more second-round picks, certain young players, a player whose contract expires in the summer of 2024, and Tyler Herro. However, it is inevitable that, in that case, a third team would have to be included in the trade, to which Herro would go.

Since 2012, Lillard has been a player for the Blazers, who selected him as their sixth pick in the draft. The team has not made the playoffs for the past two seasons, despite being among the top eight teams in the Western Conference for eight consecutive years before that.

Lillard hoped management would use the third pick in this year’s draft to acquire quality players in exchange, but the organization chose to draft Scoot Henderson and rebuild instead. Lillard is a former Weber State University standout who has scored nearly 20,000 points over a decade at the “Moda Center.”

He has been a seven-time All-Star, a member of the starting All-NBA lineup, and led the team to the Western Conference Finals. Additionally, he won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games with the USA national team.

Despite being an experienced player, Lillard is still one of the best point scorers in world basketball - he averaged 32.2 points in 58 games last season.
