The Los Angeles Lakers are wasting no time reshaping their roster for the upcoming NBA season. After finishing third in the Western Conference last year with a 50–32 record, their playoff run was cut short in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves—a disappointing exit that’s clearly fueling their offseason urgency.

New arrivals in Los Angeles

Their first move in free agency? Signing 23-year-old forward Jake LaRavia to a two-year, $12 million deal after acquiring him from the Sacramento Kings. LaRavia, a Pasadena native, brings size, shooting, and versatility to the Lakers’ wing rotation. He shot an impressive 42.3% from three-point range last season and is expected to help fill the void left by Dorian Finney-Smith’s departure.

The Lakers’ second signing was Deandre Ayton, who arrived from the Portland Trail Blazers on a contract worth $34 million.

In addition, Jaxson Hayes returns to the Californian quintet, the center became a free agent at the end of last season, securing a one-year contract in exchange for three million dollars.

While on the other side of the coin, the Lakers’ first loss during free agency was Dorian Finney-Smith, who reached an agreement with the Houston Rockets on a 4-year contract for $53 million.
