Update:

In a key moment in the season, New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson has suffered an injury setback as he continues his recovery from injury.

The end of the regular season is fast approaching, and the NBA All-Star is in a race against time to get fit again in order to play his role as perhaps the most valuable cog in the Knicks machine.

At present, the medical diagnosis is that Brunson will be out of action until at least the final two weeks of the regular season, which ends on April 13.

What injury does Jalen Brunson have?

The 28-year-old star point guard suffered a sprained right ankle with 1:24 remaining in overtime in the game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Since his injury on March 6, Brunson has missed a total of 8 games for the Knicks, who are 4-4 without him in the side and are desperately clinging onto the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference after what has been a remarkable season so far.

On Saturday, it was announced by the Knicks that Brunson’s status would be updated again in about a week; his current recovery guidance is limited to on-court training.

He’s doing more and more each day. He’s feeling a lot better. So really good progress. But day-to-day, basically”, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau said on Monday, adding that he’s out of the protective boot and is now even “doing a lot of shooting, working the pool, working the bike. Stuff like that. So his conditioning is pretty good actually.”
