Lakers 113 vs 116 Timberwolves Game 4 summary, stats scores and highlights | NBA Playoffs
Anthony Edwards had 43 points in Game 4 to lead his team over LeBron and Luka, but he was the first to dish out praise to Naz Reid and the rest of his team. This is a true super star and it's hard not to cheer for a guy like this. ANT is the next face of the league, and he might be taking the torch from LeBron right before our eyes.
Reaves had a chance to tie the game up on the final play of regulation and had a good look, but missed the three ball in the corner to send the Lakers back to LA down 3-1.
This game came down to an instant replay after an out of bounds call was given to the Lakers. ANT wanted his team to challenge it and they ended up winning the challenge and hitting two FTs to put the T'Wolves up by 3. He ended the night with 43, 9 and 6 in a heroic effort in Game 4.
When all the focus is on ANT, the rest of the team is moving without the ball looking to get open looks. They know that Edwards will give the rock up and it's their job to get open. McDaniels had a quiet night but had a huge bucket to tie the game up with under a minute to go.
Naz Reid has not missed a shot in the fourth quarter this series. He's 9/9 and Anthony Edwards called him the most clutch player on the team. This team is stacked with weapons. It's not just ANT and Randle. McDaniels and Reid can take a game over and they have proven that time and time again.
ANT has may the greatest player in the history of the NBA and one of the best players of this generation on the other side of the floor. He went right at them and carried his team to victory. We aren't seeing a star being born. We saw that a long time ago. We might be seeing the torch being passed from LeBron to Anthony Edwards.
ANT came out and let everyone know he was ready to take over the game to start the 4th quarter. He had 13 in the final 12 minutes and closed out the Lakers late on.
This was the vibe all day. Both teams played this like a Game 7, and that's what it felt like from start to finish. Randle ended the night with 25 and 7 while Luka had 38. Luka has had 30+ in three of four games, but LA only won one of those games.
The Lakers were down 3 at half, but came out of the break and went on a 14-0 run. The lead went up to 12 for the Lakers who kept that advantage for most of the third quarter. Luka and LeBron were at the center of everything, but Austin Reaves came to life after going scoreless in the first half.
Randle carried the torch for the T'Wolves in the first half He had 21 at the break and kept Minnesota in the game and even gave them the lead at the break. He would settle down in the second half but that's when ANT took the torch.
Luka was sick in Game 3, and it showed, but he was back to his best in Game 4 and he was locked in. He and LeBron scored 43 of the first 58 points in the first half. LeBron had 21 and Luka had 22 and they wouldn't cool off in the 4th quarter.
It was Julius Randle that set the tone for the Wolves in the first quarter, scoring 13 points but Minnesota needed a little burst from Anthony Edwards to cut into the lead heading into the second quarter.
The Minnesota Timberwolves won a thriller to take a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday afternoon from the Target Center. Anthony Edwards dropped 43 points and outshined both Luka Doncic and LeBron James in Game 4.
LeBron and the Lakers came out looking like a desperate team and they took command in the first quarter and led the for most the the night. LeBron and Luka both came out swinging, but they didn't get much help in the 1st half.

Luka got tripped up and fell to the ground and had to take a TO with 33 to go.

ANT has 19 and is just starting warm up. He suffered a scare after LeBron landed on his ankle but he came back even stronger. He might have something to say in this second half after shaking off the injury. Randle has 21 and ended the half with this three ball to give MIN their first lead since early in the 1st half.
Luka had 17 in the last game against the T'Wolves. He already has 21, and if the Lakers are going to win they are going to need more of him and LeBron. LeBron and Luka have a combined 43 of the Lakers 58 points. They need Austin Reaves to get going after picking up 3 early fouls.

Luka was sick in Game 3, and it showed. Today he's feeling back to normal and it's showing. He and LeBron James have been carrying the Lakers who aren't getting much help from anyone else.

Knicks win, now it's time for LA vs. Minnesota
The Knicks just won a barn burner. Tim Hardaway Jr. put up a three ball that would have won the game. He missed it but he looked like he got fouled at the end of the game but no whistle was blown and the Knicks survive and head back to New York with a 3-1 lead.

Tip off is in just a few minutes but there is an epic battle going down in Detroit. The Pistons were but double digits in the 4th quarter but NY has come clawing back and they lead by one with just under a minute to go.
Starting five
JJ Redick is heading into Game 4 with a full roster, and he is going with his base starting five to being the game less than 48 hours after the Game loss. It's Hachimura, Luka, LeBron, Reaves and Hayes for LA to come out of the gate. They will be looking to come out and take the crowd out of the game from the get go.
Must win for LA
This is a must win for LA. They have put themselves in this position after losing Games 1 and 3 and now there is barley any room for error today in Minnesota. Going down 3-1 would mean the Lakers can practically start booking flights and hotels for their early vacation. Our William Allen has more.

The Lakers have had just one player on the injury report this series. That’s Maxy Kleber who has been out since the Lakers traded for him and Luka in February. Luka has steered clear of the injury report, which might have been the biggest concern for Lakers fans coming into this game.

The Timberwolves rely on their depth to be able to play their high energy, up and down style of basketball. Chris Finch goes deep down his bench and fortunately for him he is going to have everyone available for today’s game against the Lakers.
Ghost whistles?
Luka Doncic wasn’t just battling his stomach bug the other day. There were some phantom whistles throughout Game 3 and never was it more evident than on one of Jaden McDaniels scoop and scores in which Luka looked to stop in his tracks after hearing a “whistle.” The sound came from the stands, but it was enough to allow J Mac to take it all the way to the rack for a wide open jam. In these games that are decided by so little, that can make the difference, and LA will be hoping that that problem was only a one night occasion.
T'Wolves at home
Minnesota is back home for Game 4 and they are going to try and take care of business under their own roof before heading to LA for Game 5. They were 25-16 at home this season and made sure to defend their home court in Game 3. Today will be no different. They know how dangerous losing tonight could be considering the Lakers could take commnand if they let a game slip this afternoon.
Luka’s illness
News broke early in Game 3 that Luka Doncic was not feeling 100% and it was visible from the start. He his body language, his game and his overall demeanor was off. After dropping back to back 30 points games, he had just 17 points and went 6/16 from the field but he still had 7 rebounds and 8 assists. There’s not much information about Luka’s status today, but he should be good to go for this huge Game 4 match up.
Star watch: T’Wolves
Anthony Edwards did exactly what his coach wanted him to do in Game 3. Chris Finch said after Game 1 that he prefers that ANT flirts with a triple double instead of dropping 40 or 50 which is he fully capable of. That’s what he did in Game 1 and that’s what he did on Friday night when he posted 29, 8 and 8. In the games that ANT is at his best he comes out and makes sure his teammates get involved before he starts finding his rhythm. Let’s look for him to do the same today in this massive game from Target Center.
Star watch: Lakers
At 40 years old, LeBron James showed us he is still capable of carrying a team in the playoffs. It shouldn’t come as a surprise considering he averaged 24, 8 and 8 this season. Since Luka came to town the load on LeBron’s shoulders has been lightened, but every now and then he has to put the team on his back and try to lift them to victory. Friday night was one of those games. He had 38 and 10 rebounds in the game and almost led his team to victory all on his own. Tonight LA is going to need both Luka and LeBron to be at their best in this must win game from Minnesota.
Game 3 recap
Game 3 was played on a knifes edge for basically the entire night. The T’Wolves went up in the first quarter but the Lakers battled back on the shoulders of LeBron James who had an epic night with Luka Doncic feeling the affects of a stomach bug. Both teams exchanged the lead all game long and the lead never crept about 10 points until the end of the game. With the game tied with 4:30 remaining, Minnesota went on a 13-1 run and closed the Lakers out to take a 2-1 lead thanks to Anthony Edwards 29, 8 and 8 and Jaden McDaniels 30 points.
