LeBron James is undoubtedly one of the greatest NBA players of all time. His legacy is unquestionable, and his statistics attest to this fact. However, now that his eldest son, Bronny, is reaching the age to emerge in the league, there is a feeling around already beginning to demand that he continue his father’s legacy. And that means criticism.

No Bronny in mock draft

Jonathan Givony at ESPN released a mock 2024 NBA draft, in which Lebron junior was not selected in any of the rounds, and the ‘King’ lashed out against the critics that came on the back of it.

“Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball. The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do. If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!” LeBron said, although he later deleted the post.

James urged critics to calmly assess his son’s collegiate career, who is currently in his first year at USC. Previously projected to be among the top 10 picks in the 2024 draft before joining the Trojans, he is now slated as a second-round selection in 2025 (pick 39 overall).

At 18 years old, Bronny has not publicly declared whether he intends to make himself available for this year’s NBA draft following his first season. He averages 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 19 games of the campaign; he missed the first month of the season after suffering a cardiac arrest during a training session.
