NBA Draft Lottery 2025 results: Complete pick order
The Dallas Mavericks have shockingly landed the No. 1 pick for the 2025 NBA Draft and are most definitely going to select Duke sensation Cooper Flagg.
Joy in Dallas for the first time this season. The Mavericks are the big winners of the lottery and will have the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, which will take place next month.
Spectacular turn of events, because the Mavs had only a 1.8% chance of getting the number one pick. This clears up quite a bit of the uncertain future the franchise faced after Luka Doncic’s trade and Kyrie Irving’s injury. The basketball gods have decided to smile upon GM Nico Harrison.
It has been a lottery full of surprises, where many of the teams with the best chances of finishing at the top ended up outside the top 4, while teams with little chance of picking high have finished the afternoon very happy.
Who will the Mavs select in the 2025 Draft?
Unlike last year, when there were doubts about who the Atlanta Hawks would pick, this time there seems to be a clear consensus on the no-brainer number one pick: Duke star Cooper Flagg.
Flagg is a name that has been on scouts’ and young talent experts’ radars for several years. Every once in a while, a player comes along who earns the label of “generational talent” — the kind of player who can change the future of a franchise.
Whether Cooper Flagg will live up to those expectations remains to be seen, but one thing seems almost certain: the Mavs will bet on him. Anything else would be one of the biggest surprises in recent years.

Spurs, Sixers and Hornets complete top four
The Spurs will pick second, and the Philadelphia 76ers third. The draw assigned the fourth pick to the Charlotte Hornets.
The Spurs and the Mavs have been the big winners of the night. Despite having few chances, they made it into the top 4. San Antonio will continue building around Viktor Wembanyama and the recent Rookie of the Year winner, Stephon Castle.
Teams that tanked all year, like the Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, or Charlotte Hornets, had worse luck, ending up completely outside the top 3.

Just like last year, the 2025 NBA Draft will be held over two nights, one for each round.
