The Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers remain in an ongoing battle to secure their direct ticket to the NBA playoffs.

The Golden State Warriors claimed a 123–116 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena, in a matchup that felt every bit like a playoff preview. Stephen Curry once again led the charge with 37 points, while Brandin Podziemski had a career night, pouring in 28 points and catching fire from beyond the arc.

Podziemski knocked down eight three-pointers – a personal best – becoming the unexpected star of the night. Curry, fresh off a 52-point explosion with 12 threes against the Grizzlies, went 4-for-11 from distance but continued to anchor the Warriors offensively.
LeBron James put up 33 points and nine assists in a strong performance for the Lakers. In the process, he surpassed 11,000 points as a Laker, becoming just the tenth player in franchise history to reach the milestone. Austin Reaves also impressed with 31 points and nine threes, while Rui Hachimura added 24. Luka Doncic finished with 19 points, but missed all six of his three-point attempts.
Both the Warriors and Lakers remain locked in a fierce battle for a direct playoff spot, with just six games left in the regular season and both aiming to avoid the play-in tournament.
Beckham takes the spotlight – and the respect
In a star-studded night, David Beckham – the former Real Madrid Galáctico, Manchester United icon, and LA Galaxy star – was spotted courtside, drawing cheers from the Los Angeles crowd.
LeBron and Curry both took time to show their admiration. In a memorable gesture, Curry even removed his jersey, signed it, and gifted it to Beckham.
