The Los Angeles Lakers priority is signing Christian Wood
The Los Angeles Lakers are still looking for one more player that they could integrate into their squad, who could work as a back up to Anthony Davis
The Los Angeles Lakers are still looking for one more player to complete their roster before the start of next season, and it’s former Dallas Maverick Christian Wood who is one of the main targets for the 17 time champs.
In the last few hours rumors of a heavy interest from the Lakers have resurfaced, according to a report by Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times.
Lakers looking for player 14
The Lakers currently have 13 players on their roster, so they could still sign a second team center; but they could only offer the minimum veteran contract.
Christian Wood, who earned 14.3 million last year, entered the free agent market hoping for a better contract then the one he is coming off.
In Dallas, he averaged 16.6 points in the 67 games he played last year. According to the information, the Lakers are willing to reinforce their post game and give Anthony Davis a viable back up.
To his credit, Christian Wood has the ability to score from a variety of places on the court and his rebounding ability would be welcomed on coach David Ham’s squad although the former Maverick does struggle with consistency at times.
