The reason why Steph Curry shouted out Adam Sandler after movie star’s Oscar cameo
Steph Curry wasn’t watching the Oscars on Sunday night but someone brought Adam Sandler’s skit to his attention, and Curry couldn’t have been happier.
Steph Curry wasn’t watching the Oscars last night. He and the Golden State Warriors had a matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers from Wells Fargo Arena as the game was going on, but he did catch one of the funnier moments from the 97th Academy Awards.
Sandler’s wardrobe on Oscar Sunday
After the Warriors’ loss to the Sixers and after the after parties in LA had died down for the actors who took home an Oscar, Steph sent a shoutout to Adam Sandler on social media.
The “Happy Gilmore” actor showed up to the black tie affair in his typical ensemble of gym shorts a hoodie and a pair of sneakers. He cracked a few jokes, invited Hollywood’s biggest stars to a game of 5-on-5 and bid everyone adieu.
Curry took notice of the clip for one particular reason, and it wasn’t to sign up for the pick up game. Sandler was wearing Steph’s “Championship Minset” Cury 11s. The Warriors’ colored kicks may not get him on the “best dressed” list of the Oscars, but Curry and Under Armour will certainly appreciate the free avertisement.
Sandler’s famous buddies
While the Warriors lost on Sunday night, Curry is in the midst of a renaissance with the addition of Jimmy Butler to the Warriors after a midseason trade. The Warriors are red hot, winning 7 of their last 9 and Curry has scored 30 points or more in four of those games, including 56 against the Orland Magic over the weekend.
