The Pacers are up 2-1 in the NBA Finals and are two wins away from their first title in franchise history. They have Game 4 coming up at home, and if they win that, they will hit the road with a chance to close out the Thunder in Game 5 from OKC.

Haliburton did exactly what he needed to do in Game 3. He came out and got involved early. He got his teammates involved with his 12 assists and he got to that 20 point mark that has eluded him against the Thunder for the last two years. The Pacers are now 8-1 in the playoffs when Haliburton scores 20+ points.

For the first time in a long time, the Thunder looked defeated in the 4th quarter. They weren't crashing the boards or defending like we are used to seeing. Obi Toppin came in a tip slammed this rebound to set the place ablaze for the final few minutes from Indiana.

Benedict Mathurin could do no wrong for the Pacers on Wednesday night. He went 9/12 from the field and had a playoff career high 27 points in just 22 minutes.

With out the plays from TJ McConnell, the Pacers don't win this game. He did a little bit of everything and most importantly got the crowd off their feet with his energy plays off the bench. He had 10 points, 5 assists and 5 steals in the Game 3 win.

Jalen Williams got hot in the third quarter, which the Thunder started on an 8-0 run. Williams had 26 points, one of three Thunder players with 20+ points, but SGA and Williams didn't get much help from the bench in Game 3. Caruso led the bench scorers with 8 of the 18 points outside the starting five.

In the last two years, (six games) Haliburton hadn't scored 20 points against the Thunder. There was talk that OKC have his number. He certainly heard the chatter, and he answered the bell in Game 3.

The Pacers went to the halftime break up by four but this game went back and forth for the entire 48 minutes. The last few minutes were a showcase of the two best players in the playoffs this postseason. Haliburton and SGA went toe to toe, but it was Indy and Haliburton who came out on top.

SGA took a little while to get going, but he went to halftime with 12 points. It looked like he was going to find his groove but he ended with 24 points on 9/20 shooting. Maybe more importantly, he had just 4 assists in a game that the Thunder needed everyone to contribute.

We knew that Pascal Siakam and Haliburton were going to have to have big games but someone else was going to have to step up and on Wednesday night it was Benedict Mathurin. He had 14 points in the first half and he carried that into the second half in a monster game off the bench.

The second unit came in and changed the game for Indiana. While SGA was on the bench to start the second quarter, TJ McConnell provided a jolt off for the Pacers. The shift guard changed the pace of the game, was a pest on defense and sparked a run that got the crowd into the game for the first time.

Holmgren had 13 points in the first quarter, and Lu Dort hit three threes to put the Thunder ahead early on. Holmgren ended the night with 20 and Dort had just three more points after the first quarter.

The Indiana Pacers brought an NBA Finals game back to the cradle of basketball for the first time in 25 years and made it worth the wait on Wednesday night. Tyrese Haliburton led the way with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists in the Game 3 win over OKC.

The Pacers went down double digits early on after Chet Holmgren got hot out of the gate, but Haliburton came out swinging from the start. He looked locked in after a couple of sub par games, and a whole lot of chatter leading up to the huge game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

WE ARE BACK IN INDY FOR THE SECOND HALF OF ACTION!

This game has been back and forth all night and you get the feeling it's going to be that way all night long. Pacers lead by 4 in this massive Game 3.

SGA has 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, but you have a feeling he's going to have a big second half after getting going in the 2nd quarter.

It wasn't Siakam or Haliburton or even McConnell that led the Pacers in the first half. It was Mathurin who ended the half with 14 points. Siakam has 13 and Haliburton has 12 and 7 assists.

The bench has changed this game for the Pacers. McConnell especially. He came up with some big plays on both ends, and he's got 6 and 4 assists.

SGA took a little while to get in to the game, but once he saw the first bucket go late in the first quarter, everyone knew it was only a matter of time before he found his groove.

Haliburton has made sure he's going to have an impact on this game from early on. He's looking like the Tyrese we have seen all playoffs.

The Thunder got off to another quick start thanks to an early flurry from Holmgren. After a slow start to the series he's coming to life.

WE ARE UNDERWAY FROM INDIANA!!!

Siakam's time to shine?

It's not just going to be up to Haliburton tonight. Pascal Siakam knows what it takes to win a title. He did it with the Raptors back in 2019, and he needs to be the one to carry this team when they need a bucket in important situations tonight. They will rely on their vet. Can he deliver when they need him most?

Finals back in Indy

It's been a quarter century since the Indiana Pacers have been in the NBA Finals. The fans have been waiting a long time for this moment. They have never raised the Larry O'Brien Trophy in Indy. They won't tonight, but they can take one big step towards the title tonight.

Thunder starting five

The Thunder switched it up in Game 1, putting Cason Wallace in the starting five and it seems to have been working for them. They are going with Wallace in the starting five again instead of Isaiah Hartenstein. He is joined by SGA, Dort, Williams and Chet Holmgren.

Injury report Pacers

Tyrese Haliburton is available tonight. We all knew that was the case. He said he was fine, despite the “lower leg injury.” The only other Pacer who is on the injury list, other than Isaiah Stewart who has been out for a long time, is Jarace Walker. Walker adds a little depth off the bench, but he is out for the third straight game after turning his ankle in Game 6 against the Knicks. There was talk of him being able to play after Game 2, but he has been ruled out for tonight’s pivotal Game 3 from Indy.

Pacers starting five

No surprises for the Pacers in their return home. It's Haliburton leading the way, with Nembhard, Nesmith, Siakam and Turner to start off Game 3. They have yet to have a good first quarter but they will need to make sure to get the home fans on their side from the gun tonight in Indy.

Injury report: Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder were already a great team coming into the postseason. The fact that they have a clean injury report at this point of the postseason and have basically kept it like that through this playoff run. Any coach will say keeping healthy at this stage in the season is the most important thing and that’s what OKC have done. We have seen Steph Curry get injured. Donovan Mitchell get injured. Jayson Tatum get injured. The Warriors, Cavs and Celtics are all watching from home tonight while the Thunder have a chance to take control of the series in Indy.

From courtside flamingos to hard hats: Meet ‘Sign Guy,’ the Indiana Pacers’ most beloved superfan

Pacers home cooking

For the first time in a quarter century, the Indiana Pacers are in the NBA Finals. That means that not just the team is in the spotlight, but the fans are too. Indiana is known as the cradle of basketball, but their NBA team has been far from a title contender over the years. This year is different, and the fans have been waiting for a moment like this for a long, long time. One fan in particular has been craving this moment, and now it’s his time to shine. Our Paul Reidy has more.

Pacers Siakam: ‘Game 3 is the most important of the year’

“The biggest game of the year”

The Pacers have been in some big games this season. Game 6 against the Knicks was their biggest game of the season so far, but tonight is a whole other level. Game 3. Tied at 1-1. A chance to take command of the series after having been dominated for the majority of the first two games. Pascal Siakam understands what’s at stake tonight.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander joins basketball royalty with latest performance in Game 2 of NBA Finals

SGA joins GOAT on elite list

This season has been one of a kind for SGA. He won his first MVP award, he’s in the NBA Finals and last game he joined a list that only the greats can say they are a part of. The postseason that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has had led his team to this point, and also put him in rarified air. Click the link to find out why.

Indy at home

The Pacers are back home where they have a 6-2 record in the postseason during this run to the Finals. They lost Game 3 to the Cleveland Cavaliers in their home opener of that series and then lost Game 3 of the Conference Finals against the Knicks. The Pacers were a good team in the regular season, but they were much better at home than they were on the road. That should come as no surprise considering the rabid fan base they have at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Is Haliburton injured?

On top of the fact that Haliburton is going up against one of his black beasts, he may be coming into this game a bit banged up. He was spotted limping off the podium after the postgame presser. When asked about it, he said “I’m fine - really just a lower leg thing.” The Pacers can ill afford seeing their All-Star orchestrator to come out anything other than 100%. We should be able to tell how he is feeling in the first few minutes of the game, and obviously we will be monitoring that all night.

Hali’s struggles vs. OKC

Tyrese Haliburton has been one of the most spectacular players not just in this postseason, but in a long time. His late game dramatics have led the Pacers to this point of the playoffs, but he has met his black beast in the Finals. He has struggled mightily against the Thunder over the last couple of seasons. In six games over the span of the last two seasons he has yet to reach 20 points. In the four games this season, regular season and Finals, he has yet to reach double digit assists, with 8 being the most in the regular season in a game that he scored just 4 points. He needs a break out game against OKC tonight. The question is, do the Thunder have his number?

Star watch: Pacers

If the Pacers can’t find a way to get Tyrese Haliburton into a groove in this series they are going to be in serious trouble. Sure, Haliburton had that game winner in the series opener to shock the Pacers but he has been well below average over the last couple of games. The problem for Hali, is he is not being allowed to play his game. He can’t get out in transition. He can’t get into the paint and collapse the defense and he is not shooting the ball. The Pacers are 7-1 in the postseason when Haliburton scores 20+ points. He had 14 in Game 1, and 17 in Game 2. Tonight he needs to be the Haliburton we have seen in the first three rounds of the playoffs if Indy is going to win this massive Game 3.

Star watch: Thunder

The MVP has done MVP things in his first two NBA Finals games. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander admitted he was a little nervous before the Finals opener, but whatever butterflies that were buzzing around before he series started have disappeared. He has been sensational in the playoffs and incredible in the Finals. He had 38 in the first game, but took 30 field goals. Last game he had 34 on 21 field goals and dished 8 assists, getting his teammates much more involved. That’s what coach Dagenault and the Thunder want to see. He can get his points, and history shows that he will, but he needs to see everyone else get going before he does.

Game 2 recap

After the Thunder were stunned in Game 1 they rebounded on Sunday night with a convincing win over the Pacers. The first quarter went back and forth for the first few minutes, which was more than we can say about Game 1 when OKC were ahead for 47:59 of the 48:00 minutes. Chet Holmgren had a big first 12 minutes after a miserable Game 1, and a 9-0 run from the Thunder at the end of the first quarter put them ahead and kept them ahead for the rest of the night.  SGA went on to score 34 on 11/21 shooting while Alex Caruso (20 pts) and Andrew Wiggins (18 pts) had huge games off the bench. The Thunder stretched the lead out to 23 and never let the Pacers get close the rest of the way.

We are live from Gainbridge Fieldhouse

Hello everyone and welcome to Indiana where the Pacers are back home after stealing one in Oklahoma City. Their best player, Tyrese Haliburton, has been far from his best and they have been dominated for most of the opening two games of this series but it’s even and now the Indy is back home and looking to take control of the series. The Thunder took a bit of momentum back with their Game 2 win in which they controlled the Pacers from start. Unlike Game 1, the Thunder were able to close out Indiana and even the series thanks to a brilliant performance from the MVP of the NBA. Tonight’s game is going to go a long way in determining the NBA Champion, so sit back and enjoy.

Thunder vs. Pacers Game 3

After two games in Oklahoma City we are tied up at 1-1 as the series heads to Indiana.
