What are the contact details of Kyrie Irving’s deal with the Mavericks?
Dallas secures point guard Kyrie Irvin’s services for the next three years and secures his place with Luka.
According to a report by Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Dallas Mavericks and Kyrie Irving have reached an agreement on a contract worth $126 million over a span of three years. This contract also includes a player option for the third season.
The Mavericks’ acquisition of Irving occurred before the February trade deadline. In exchange for Irving, the Mavericks traded Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a first-round pick in 2029 without any protection, as well as second-round picks in 2027 and 2029.
The guard purportedly intended to engage in discussions with the Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets at the onset of the free agency period.
Kyrie’s record with the Mavs since joining from the Nets
Dallas achieved a record of 5 wins and 11 losses while fielding a lineup consisting of Irving and the highly talented Luka Doncic. However, the team’s performance was hindered by the absence of both players due to injuries during the latter part of the season.
Irving, who is 30 years old, provided an average performance of 27 points, six assists, five rebounds, and 1.3 steals across a span of 20 games while playing for the Mavericks. The Dallas team failed to qualify for the postseason, concluding their season with a record of 38 wins and 44 losses.
The team successfully procured the services of two rookie players during the draft, specifically center Dereck Lively and forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper, to bolster their defensive capabilities.
